The traditional months
Traditional Punjabi life follows a lunisolar calendar with its own month names:
ਚੇਤ, ਵੈਸਾਖ, ਜੇਠ, ਹਾੜ, ਸਾਵਣ, ਭਾਦੋਂ, ਅੱਸੂ, ਕੱਤਕ, ਮੱਘਰ, ਪੋਹ, ਮਾਘ, ਫੱਗਣ
The traditional year begins with ਚੇਤ (Chet), around March, and ਵੈਸਾਖ (Vaisakh) brings the harvest festival of ਵਿਸਾਖੀ (Vaisakhi) in April.
