Asking the way

Giving directions

• நேராகப் போங்கள். Go straight.
• வலது பக்கம் திரும்புங்கள். Turn right.
• இடது பக்கம் திரும்புங்கள். Turn left.

Tickets and travel

• சென்னைக்கு ஒரு பயணச்சீட்டு கொடுங்கள். Give me one ticket to Chennai.
• பேருந்து எப்போது புறப்படும்? When will the bus leave?
• அடுத்த நிறுத்தம் எது? What is the next stop?

Auto-rickshaws are common in Tamil cities. Agree on the fare or ask for the meter before you set off.
